Sadness in September

"Our lives are so beautiful, so fragile, so intricately joined to others on our path."

My sister Lois Young passed away on September 19, 2009 of a heart attack at the age of 66. She will be sorely missed as our oldest sister and the matriarch of her family.

"We can never be separated from those we love...because God leaves us with memories to hold and love that doesn't pass away. And in time, we realize that our loved one lives on--not only in a home beyond the setting sun but within our hearts."

Moyer Family Reunion - August 9, 2009
From Jeanine's journal:
"Our cousins reunion heat was another story. 105 heat index and when came time for pictures everyone looked like we all took a swim in the lakes. Even with this dilemma everyone showed their smiles. We were still exceptionally radiant. Beauty in our family glows in our faces with our smiles. The reunion was a hit. Bingo playing, ground games, mints in a jar contest, and chatting with relatives only seen once a year or longer made the reunion a hit. It was good to see new and old faces reminiscing on past, present and future encounters. The food was plenty and everyone contributed to bringing their favorite recipes. Family is the one thing no one should delete from their life style."

The 'grand finale' to our week was when a lady ran into the driver's rear side of our motor home--Dan was able to safely come to a stop, but the lady rolled her car--they took her and her little boy in the ambulance--the patrolmen said with minor injuries.
